Creating a new "Block" on your course page

This lesson will explain how to create a block of "Helpful websites" to your course.

From your course main page, click on the "Blocks" drop down menu; select "html".

Click the "edit text" icon.

Click the "edit text" icon.

Type "Helpful websites" in the Block title.

Next, using your browser, go to a website you'd like your students to have access to. I'm going to add an online dictionary called "Wordreference".

1. Copy (command + C) the URL of the site you want to use for your course.

2. Toggle back to your MyMitty page.

1. Type a name for your reference.

2. Click the "insert a link" icon (looks like a chain link).

3. Copy the url from the website.

4. Type a title for your reference (I made it the same as #1).

5. In the "Target" drop down menu, select "New window".

6. Click "OK".

7. Click "Save changes".

Now you can see your new block on the right margin of your course page. When you want to add more websites, click on the "edit" icon (hand), and repeat the process.
