Using a Google Doc for your calendar

From your Google documents page, click "Browse template gallery".

Once your template is open, click in the "title" window customize it to your course.

Type the title of your new calendar and click "OK".

Now we'll create a link to our MyMitty site.

1. Click on the arrow next to "Share".

2. Select "Publish to the Web..."

Make sure "Automatically republish when changes are made", is selected. Click "Start publishing" button.

Now you can put your new calendar in a folder and add other course calendars.

1. If you move your curser across the title of your calendar to the right, an "Actions" drop down menu will appear.

1. Check the folder where you want your calendar to be filed.

2. Click "Apply changes".

You can also make a folder within a folder. I've made separate folders for Fall and Spring semester.

Return to your MyMitty course page and click on the "Edit text" icon in the topic 1 block.

1. Type "Course calendar" in the text window and then select the text.

2. Click on the "Insert web link" icon (looks like a chain link).

2. Paste the url from your GDoc calendar in this window.

3. Type "Course calendar" in the "Title" window.

4. Click "OK".

5. Click "Save changes".

There is the calendar, easy to see in the first topic block. When you want to edit your calendar, you need to do it from Google, not MyMitty.
