Adding resources to your myMitty 2 course: Your course calendar

This article will explain how to add your course calendar to your course page.

Adding a course calendar

1. Go to Google Drive

2. Click "Create"

3. Click "...from template"

Click "Preview" to check out the different templates. When you've decided which one you'd like to use, click "Use this template".

Rename your calendar.

1. Click on "Copy of Fall 2014 Calendar template". A "Rename document" window will open up.

2. Type the name of your course calendar in the window.

3. Click "OK".

Put your calendar in a folder for easy reference.

1. Click on the folder icon

2. If you don't have a folder, click "Create new folder"

3. Type your folder name

4. Click "Create"

Now your calendar is safely stored in its new folder. You can add your other course calendars here, as well.

Make sure your GDoc is shared with your students.

Click the "Share" button.

Go to "Who has access". Click "change" next to "Private - Only you can access".

Click "Anyone with the link".  At the bottom of the window make sure it states "view" (not edit), then click "Save".

On the next screen, copy the calendar link (command + c), then click "Done".

Now we'll create a link from your myMitty course to your calendar.

1. Click on the tab you labeled "Course calendar"

2. Click on "Add an activity or resource"

1. Type "Course Calendar" and select text

2. Click the "Link" icon

3. Paste (command + v) the link into the window

4. Click "Create link"

Now your Course Calendar is link on your course page. When you want to edit the calendar, you need to do it on Google, because this is where it is originating.
