There are multiple different ways to put a video on you website. Here you will learn to use YouTube to put videos on MyMitty. There are a lot of benefits of using YouTube, but if you don't have an account there are other ways to use videos.

1. Add a resource

2. Choose "Link to a file or web site"

NOTES:

1. Title the video, this will be seen on your homepage

2. Give a description or directions.

3. Paste the url of the video

4. Decide whether or not you want the video to open in a new window or in the same window.

If you want the video to show on your homepage choose the edit button.

1. Decide what you want the link to be called. Highlight the title.

2. Select "link"

1. Write any information about the video you want to add. This can be background or details about the video.

2. Click "Toggle HTML source"

This will make the text look different, but don't worry about it.

1. Go to the page of the video

2. Click on "embed"

3. This will give you a link, copy it

1. Paste the link into the web page box (make sure you still have HTML selected)

Sometimes the video won't show up right away, but if you save your page and come back you will see the video.

Your video is now on your homepage. If you select it, it will open a new page.

The video will open in a new window. Note that the words that I wrote before pasting the URL are in this window so it is a good place to add any directions, questions, or information you want your student to have.
