Making a quiz is a two step process. First you need to upload the questions to MyMitty, then add questions from the question bank to the quiz. This allows you to reuse questions and to share questions with other teachers.

In the Administration block on your homepage select "questions"

1. Choose the "Create new question"

1. Make sure you create a title that is specific, it is a bank and when there are a lot of questions you want to be able to identify what each question is.

2. Write the question or statement into the "Question Text"

1. Select the correct answer under "Correct answer"

2. If you want to give general feedback on the question you would enter the text or picture into this space. You can also only give feedback if the student gets the answer correct or incorrect.

Once you have created questions you want to have them categorized by topic or unit. Click on "Categories"

1. Select where you want you question to organized under. In this case I want it to be its own category so "Top" is selected.

2. Name the category or unit

3. Give a description if you want.

4. Click "Add category"

The new category has been created and now questions must be moved into folder.

At the top of the page click on "Questions"

1. Select the questions you want to have moved into your new category by checking them

2. Select the category you want to move the questions to

3. Select "Move to"

1. Select "Add activity"

2. Click "Quiz"

1. Give your quiz or test a title.

2. If you want an introduction or description add it in the text box

3. If you want to limit the date or times the students can take the quiz change these settings.

There are a multitude of settings that you can change and explore. For now these are the only ones we are going to use.

Scroll down to "Save"

1. Notice that democracy is highlighted. Remember that you auto-linked all the terms in your site so democracy is a link to the glossary. If you do not want this you need to change you settings in "Glossary" or follow steps in later lesson (See unlinking glossary)

2. Submit under each question can become confusing for students. This is an option you can change.

1. Scroll down the editing quiz page until you find the Attempts box. Change "Adaptive mode" from "Yes" to "No". This turns off the "Submit" button

2. If you only want students to have just one attempt at your quiz, you can select "1 attempt" from the "Attempts allowed" drop-down menu.
