Linking a PDF File

This lesson will show you how to upload and link a pdf file to your page.

Step 1: Go to your page.

But of course. In this case we are going to link Confidential English Teacher Evaluation Form (pdf file) to the actual pdf.

NOTE: Always add (pdf file) so the viewer know what will happen when the click on the link. Different browser have a variety of responses to pdf files.

A new window will pop up. To add a pdf document click on the Browse icon.

This depository holds all the pdf documents for the site. If you do not see your department, please send me an email. Otherwise, click on your folder. In this case, we are clicking on admissions.

The above shows the contents of the admissions folder. We are now going to add a pdf document.

Click on Browse...

This will bring up the contents to your computer. FInd and highlight your document. Then click Open.

Note: Make sure the title of your document is clear. When a form is downloaded, make sure the viewer can easily figure out which document it is. Over abbreviating may only confuse the viewer. Additionally, make sure your document end in .pdf. Again, different browsers read documents in different ways.

Once the document is selected. You will return to the above window. Click Upload.

Your document will magically appear in the folder. Click on your document.

Step 10: Back to the Insert/edit link window

1. This shows you the link has now been established to your document.

2. From the drop down, select Open in new window (_blank).

3. Click Update.

If you want to test it out, select the Save+Continue Editing option instead of Save+Close, click Save, and then click Preview.
